Glunz Toasts Success of BrewLights – Hoppiest Event of the Season

LOUIS GLUNZ BEER, INC. AND LINCOLN PARK ZOO’S AUXILIARY BOARD RAISE MORE THAN $225,000 THROUGH BREWLIGHTS

The Chicagoland distributor shines a light for Lincoln Park Zoo by setting a fundraising record for the second year

(CHICAGO; Dec. 14 , 2017)— On the seventh of December, more than 2.5 million luminous holiday lights and 5,000 beer enthusiasts and holiday revelers came together to enjoy what has become a holiday tradition in Chicago—the fourth annual BrewLights. Chicagoland beer distributor Louis Glunz Beer, Inc. and Lincoln Park Zoo’s Auxiliary Board teamed up to host this charitable event in support of the zoo. This year’s event raised more than $225,000 in support of the zoo’s capital campaign, The Pride of Chicago. The BrewLights celebration also honored the 23rd anniversary of ZooLights Presented By ComEd and PowerShares QQQ by Invesco.

The light behind BrewLights, Glunz Director of Marketing Jennifer Faulk, was thrilled at the success of this year’s event, “Our family feels very strongly about giving back to our community. We would have never imagined our idea of marrying the zoo’s holiday lights display with a beer sampling event would raise more than $675,000 in four years for the zoo.”

BrewLights featured a dozen local craft, seasonal, and international beers distributed by Louis Glunz Beer, Inc. on tap throughout the zoo. Attendees enjoyed a variety of holiday activities including roaming this urban oasis and all the animal habitats under the 2.5 million holiday lights that illuminated the zoo, free carousel rides, ice sculptures, and more. With the most successful BrewLights yet, Louis Glunz Beer, Inc. and Lincoln Park Zoo look forward to continuing their partnership to help support the Chicago landmark zoo.
