HERBSTCULT IS HERE: LATE SUMMER AND FALL SEASONAL INTRODUCED VIA CHICAGO BY LOUIS GLUNZ BEER, INC.
Hirter herbstCULT, from Austria’s Brauerei Hirt, arrives this autumn
(LINCOLNWOOD, IL; August 9, 2017)—Glunz Imports, a division of Louis Glunz Beer, Inc., Chicagoland’s premier craft and specialty beer distributor and importer of select international brews, introduces the Hirter herbstCULT. Brewed by Brauerei Hirt of Micheldorf, Austria, the Hirter herbstCULT is a well-rounded märzen style beer with a mild first taste and pleasant effervescence. Complete with a compact, fine-poured white head, the beer tastes of a freshly baked loaf of bread. At 5.4% ABV, the seasonal specialty becomes available in late August on draft at Chicagoland bars and restaurants, with nationwide rollout following soon thereafter.
HerbstCULT is the fourth Hirter beer to be introduced to America by Glunz, following the Hirter Herbal Radler, Hiter Privat Pils, and Hirter Morchl, all currently available in Chicago through Glunz Imports. “Fall is the peak beer season in Chicago and around the world,” says President Jerry Glunz. “Our goal is to continue to introduce new and delicious beers to the Chicago market and beyond, and keep beer fans on their toes with specialty seasonals like the herbstCULT.”
HerbstCULT is also GMO-free, nonpasteurized, and contains no artificial sugars. Best enjoyed with wild game, goose, and carpaccio of beef and dark roasted meat, the beer is made with Hallertauer Select and Mühlviertler Perle hops, giving it a discreet bitterness and naturally cloudy composition.
About Brauerei Hirt
With more than 730 years of brewing tradition, Brauerei Hirt is one of the oldest breweries in Austria. It originally opened as a tavern that served the knights and merchants who traveled along the ancient Vienna-Venice route. The continued success of the brewery is built on a number of fundamental factors: crystal-clear Alpine spring water, the highest grade of ingredients, a double filtration method, quality controls, and the fact that the beer is still brewed with the same classic Bohemian recipes. As are all Brauerei Hirt products, Hirter utilizes the slow brewing standard for crafting herbstCULT, waiting over 40 days for the beer to develop its natural characteristics.
