Our employees are our greatest asset!  

We refer to them as "The Ambassador´s of Beer" because they are the face of Louis Glunz Beer, Inc. in the community. Our company would not be celebrating our 126th Anniversary this year, if it wasn’t for the hard working employees that helped us get to this milestone in our history.

Jack Glunz 
Owner – President
Graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa with the first ever degree awarded in Business Administration by the school in 1953. He married his college sweetheart, Patricia Haskins, and soon started a family which would eventuall grow to seven: Judi, John, Janet, Jim, Jerry, Jennifer and Jane.  They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with their entire family and nine grandchildren in Florida before Pat's passing.   His studies continued after graduation as he worked with his father and brothers over the years growing the family business by diversifying their portfolio with new breweries.  He is married to his wife, Judy, and is the Owner and President with five of his seven children working with him running day-to-day operations. 



Malcolm Harvey  
Vice President of Marketing
Malcolm is a graduate of Niagra University with a BBA.  He proudly served as a United States Navy Aviator in World War II before joining the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company in 1953. His eighteen years with the brewery included Assistant District Manager in Downstate, New York as well as Export Manager Assistant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He became the Branch Manager for 2 years in New Orleans, Louisiana and then Northwest Division Manager before becoming the New England Division Manager out of Boston, Massachusetts.  He then took over as the Chicago Division Manager - the single largest division for the brewery selling over 20 million cases.  In 1979, Malcolm started his own Schlitz Wholesalership, Harvey Distributing, Inc. in Chicago.  He sold his company to Louis Glunz Beer, Inc. a few years later and became the Vice President of Marketing where he has helped to shape the growth of the company over the last 20 years. 

                        
Janet Bischoff   

Chief Financial Officer
Janet graduated from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga where she earned a BS in Business and Marketing, she did not immediately enter the family’s business, but rather, chose to gain experience on the supplier side working with the Stroh Brewery.  She was hired as one of the first female district managers, responsible for the sales and marketing in North Dakota and Montana.  Shortly thereafter, she was promoted to Marketing Manager and responsible for six states in the Midwest region

  

Having garnered what she considered invaluable experience on the supplier side and having worked with wholesalers around the country, she then joined Louis Glunz Beer, Inc.  During her tenure with the company, she has applied that knowledge and earned increased responsibilities in her roles as brand manager, sales manager, and most recently, as chief financial officer.  

 

In her free time, Janet is committed to giving back to her community.  She has been a board member and supported the River North Dance Company, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Iroquois Valley Farms; the director of enrichment for Greeley Elementary School; a basketball coach for the Winnetka Park District; and, a Boy Scout den mother. She and her husband, Barry reside in Winnetka with their three children.  


Jerry Glunz 
General Manager
Graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Management. In addition to working for the family throughout college on the beer trucks, upon graduation he began as a salesman working the streets of Chicago.  He was the first Imports and Specialty Brands Manager for the company developing this fledgling portfolio at that time.  He was then promoted to Sales Manager which he held for five years.  He is currently the General Manager of the company.  His hobbies include hunting big game as well as pheasant hunting with his dog – Shotz and new puppy - Stu. 




Wendy Adams
Sales Manager

Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Wendy joined LGBI as a merchandiser in 1985.  She was promoted to sales the following year, to Sales Manager in 2005, and in 2010 she celebrated 25 years of service with the company as well as a promotion to her current position of General Sales Manager.  Building on the expertise gained in these positions, Wendy has also studied at the Siebel Institute and is a Cicerone Server.  Her success over the years is a testament to her strong work ethic and the energy/enthusiasm/passion she brings to the beverage industry.

 

Outside of work, Wendy enjoys travel, golf and spending time with her family.  As a proud cancer survivor, she believes in living life to the fullest everyday!

  


Anthony Norkus
Craft & Specialty Import Brand Manager
Anthony attended the Illinois Institute of Art with a concentration in computer arts and animation. He was previously employed at Goose Island Brewery as a bartender with the responsibility of training the internal staff on all new brands.  As the Beer Specialist for Sam's Wines and Spirits his responsibilities included educating the staff on all facets of beer including the brewing process, styles of beer, and food and beer pairings. He organized the largest beer tasting event ever held at Sam's helping to establish their position in the retail industry as the expert on beer selection.  He joined Louis Glunz Beer, Inc. in 2007 as the Craft & SpecialtyImport Brand Manager and is also a Certified Cicerone.  His interests include playing in a band as well as supporting his children in the many sports activities including gymanastics, baseball and football.  His wife, Shannon and he enjoy travelling and theatre. 

 

 

Tony Escobedo

Off-Premise Manager

Tony joined LGBI in 2010, and he brings almost 20 years of distributor and supplier level experience to the management team. In his role as Off-Premise Sales Manager, his focus is business development in the Grocery, Liquor, and Convenience channels. Tony leads the effort to educate retailers on how to develop the high end segments, and program execution in the chain stores. He system selling advocate, and he considers himself a career beverage industry professional. He takes the greatest amount of pride in the work he does with junior sales reps in developing their talents, practices, and overall salesmanship. Tony lives on the Northwest Side of Chicago with his wife and son. His hobbies include cooking, gardening, and travel.

 

Jerry Beaudion
Off-Premise Manager - Core Territory

Jerry originally started his career in the beer industry with Louis Glunz Beers back in 1991 working on the trucks, and was quickly promoted to sales.  In 1997, he transferred to the supplier side of the beer business with Spaten North America, as Northeast Regional Manager.  Then in 1999, he accepted a position with Kirin Brewery of America as Midwest and New England Regional Manager for 5 years.  After Kirin, Jerry spent 6 years in the Pet Industry gaining invaluable retail and sales skills knowledge.  In 2010, Jerry returned to his true passion, BEER.  He was employed with Pabst Brewing Company as the Area Sales Manager in Chicago; the largest market for the Pabst.   Jerry has his Bachelor’s Degree from DeVry University and is currently working on his MBA at the Keller School of Management.

He has been married for 13 years to his wife Judy, and they have two children.  In his free time Jerry spends as much time as he can with his family.  He enjoys supporting his children in sports, helping them furthering their education, and watching them grow into little adults.

 

Patrick Neill
Off-Premise Manager - Core Territory

Patrick Neill has joined us as an On-Premise Manager. He recently held the position with the Pabst Brewing Company as the Chicago Retail Sales Manager. Prior to this, he worked for Euclid Beverage in both the Quad Cities and La Salle-Peru as a Sales Representative and Merchandiser. He is a graduate of Western Illinois University (Macomb, ILL) 2009 Bachelor of Arts: Communication.


 

 

 

Eric Kobus

Craft & Specialty Import Manager

Eric Kobus has joined us a Craft & Specialty Import Manager. He spent the last couple years opening Standard Market in Westmont, IL creating a unique, suburban beer hotspot. It was here that he founded Beer 101, beer education for consumers as well as originated Drink Local Chicago Event for Chicago Craft Beer Week focusing on local brewers. His passion with beer spans over 15 years of Restaurant/Bar experience. He has been married for three years and just welcomed his second son last week, Lincoln. He enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, biking and watching the Chicago Bears.

 

 

 

Craig Wagner

Operations Manager 

Craig was born in Chicago and raised in the South Suburbs where he landed his first job at Zulanas Distributors working his way up from Driver to Salesman.  His career took him to Minneapolis St. Paul where worked for East Side Beverage in the roles of Account Manager,  Sales Manager, National Account Sales Manager, Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager.  Coca-Cola Enterprises hired him in 2006 in the Twin Cities and then transferred him to Chicago as their Merchandising Manager for the Chicago Sales Center.  In his free time, Craig enjoys golf and all Chicago sports teams.

 

Pat Hogan
Operations Manager
Pat immigrated to the United States in 1994 from Galway, Ireland.  He started a job with Louis Glunz Beer, Inc. as a helper on the beer trucks...and the rest is history.  He is now the Operations Manager for the company juggling the many different facets of keeping the equipment maintained and warehouse organized while managing the team of drivers and warehouse team to ensure the delivery of the product in the eight counties of Chicagoland.  His interest include being a huge fan of boxing and soccer although his focus is on the sports and activities of his two sons: Dillon and Liam.  He is involved with the Chicago Park District Boxing Program and fulfilled a life dream of taking a team of Chicago youth boxers to Ireland to box against his homelands finest.  He is a big fan of history, but especially focusing on the cities of Galway and Chicago. 
 

 

Jim Burns

Inventory Manager

Jim started his career on the retail side of the industry in the grocery business in 1973 as a young kid delivering groceries on his bicycle to the neighborhood.  With his dedication and work ethic, Jim continued to garner promotions within this store, eventually buying the owner out in 1991.   In 1996, he joined Louis Glunz as a merchandiser and then quickly moved into sales.  Jim was promoted to Warehouse Manager in 2009 assisting our Operations Manager as his right hand man in the organization and execution of our deliveries in the eight counties of Chicagoland. He has two sons ages 26 and 27. In his spare time he like to watch sports and play golf.


Jane G. Delaney
Internal Office Manager

Graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a concentration in Communications.  She joined the family business in 1989 and has held various positions including: Accounts Payable, Marketing, Tel-Sell and currently is the Sales Support Manager.  Her children: Hailey, Mitch and Jennifer keep her and her husband, Mike, very busy with Ballet, softball, Tai Kwando, basketball and volleyball.  Other interest include art and travelling the world. 

 

 

Jennifer G. Faulk
Director of Marketing
Graduate of St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a minor in Chemistry.  Her career path has included working for the Telegraph Herald and Dubuque Fighting Saints Hockey Team in Iowa before she moved back to Chicago where she has worked for the Chicago Rockers CBA Basketball Team.  She spent 4 years with the Mayor's Office of Special Events for the city of Chicago before joining the National Marine Manufacturers Association as the Show Manager for the Chicago, Boat, RV & Outdoors Show.  Before joining the family, she was the Central Regional Manager overseeing the boat shows in the Central Region of the United States. She is currently the Director of Marketing with the company since 2007.  Her and her husband established a successful
e-commerce company, www.Beerables.net , The Accessory Store for the Beer Enthusiast! Her hobbies include pheasant hunting with her husband, Glenn and their dogs, Smudge and Pepper as well as fishing in Maine.  As a professional photographer, her work reflects the many different adventures they experience in thier travels around the world.

  

John P. Glunz Jr. 
Glunz Imports Manager
John Jr. has learned the business from the ground up as a young kid sweeping the warehouse and then working his summer vacations in High School as a helper on the trucks helping to contribute to his educational costs.  He attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa and Benedictine College in Kansas before joining the company full-time as a sales representative.  He has been involved in the Special Events division over the years.  He currently is working within the Glunz Imports division of the company developing the introduction and expansion of our brewery partners from Austria.  John Jr. enjoys all outdoor activities including hunting on his property in Wyoming for bear and elk and is currently a member of the St. Hubbertus Hunting Club.

 

Mike Huber

Glunz Imports Division

Regional Sales Associate

Mike has worked in the beer Industry since 1978 in their family brewery, The Joseph Huber Brewing Company. He joined Louis Glunz in 2006 as a Sales Representative.  He was promoted shortly thereafter as the Regional Manager for the Midwest with Glunz Imports Division.  

 

He has been married for 31 years to his wife Joann, who is a Department Head at Maine West High School. He has a 23 year old daughter, Katie that is a senior at the University of Illinois and an 19 year old son Joseph, who is a freshman at Harper Community College. Rumor has it that he does like sports and he umpires Baseball for Little League and enjoys traveling all over the world with his family!

 

Roger Thompson

Glunz Imports Division

Regional Sales Associate

Roger originally started his career with Louis Glunz Beer, Inc in the early 90’s as a sales representative. He moved over to Beck’s North America as District Manager in 93’ and was promoted several times leading to his Market Director position.  After the In-Bev purchase, Roger decided to take a few years and concentrate on his real estate business and his growing family. He rejoined Glunz Imports as the Mid-South Region Manager in the spring of 2011 covering the states of: Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee and Louisiana. He resides in Arkansas with his wife, Karolyn, and his children: Dalton, Jake and Abbie. He spends free time enjoying watching his kids sports including baseball, basketball, football and soccer. When time allows, he spends it fishing and golf.
