Brewery

The rich history of Anchor Brewing can be traced all the way back to the Gold Rush, when German brewer Gottlieb Brekle arrived in San Francisco with his wife Marie and infant son Frederick. Brekle applied for citizenship in 1854, and his brewing and business acumen would soon lead to his ownership of a little San Francisco brewery, which would one day become known as Anchor. The brewery inherited a long tradition of brewing what had come to be known as steam beer, one of the quaint old nicknames for beer brewed along the West Coast under primitive conditions and without ice. Today "steam" is a trademark of Anchor Brewing. www.anchorbrewing.com

Arcadia Brewing Company was established in 1996 as a microbrewery specializing in handcrafted British-style ales. All of their beers are produced in small batches, and our 25 Barrel Peter Austin Brewery and methods originated in England, which allows this style of beer to reflect over 250 years of world class brewing heritage. In addition to brewing on authentic British equipment, Arcadia uses only the finest malted barley from England, and when combined with the freshest hops from the Pacific Northwest of our United States, and their legendary Ringwood yeast, the result is some of the best and freshest handcrafted ales available, on any continent. www.arcadiabrewingcompany.com

The term Barley Island is the 17th century name for a room in an alehouse in which beer was consumed. True to its name, Barley Island Brewing Company produces fine ales, which are served in its Old World décor restaurant and pub. Barley Island has an emphasis on freshness - the beer is made from scratch as well as many of the food items. Barley Island’s national award winning handcrafted ales produced on-premise with only the finest malts and hops.  So… Get Stranded with Better Beer TM!  www.barleyisland.tripod.com

Established in 1996 in Belfast Bay, Maine, the Belfast Bay Brewing Company is the 6th largest brewery in the state.  It is here that John “Pat” Mullen began brewing his craft beer recipes.  With their 7 barrel system, he worked with his brew master, Dan McGovern, to create the award winning McGovern’s Oatmeal Stout.  When they moved onto brew a red ale, it was his wife Brenda who so aptly named this beer “Lobster Ale” for the rich history of lobster trapping in New England.  www.belfastbaybrewing.com

Berghoff is brewed using a European style which allows the ingredients to work and blend together to form these quality line of fine beers. Our storage time is 2 1/2 times longer than most domestic lager, 5 weeks versus 14 days. Their formulation comes from the German traditions of the Berghoff family. This time-honored process along with quality ingredients, combine to produce a high quality, full-bodied beer that they are proud to put the Berghoff name on.

Founder Richard Squire, had a dream -- to ski all day and drink great beer every night. Since he lived in the snow-kissed Rocky Mountains, fulfilling the skiing portion of his dream was easy. But the great beer part -- at a time when a "microbrew" was a rarity -- that was another story. So Richard started brewing his own, more flavorful beers for himself and his thrill-seeking ski pals. His homebrewed creations were a hit, and soon Richard was spending more time brewing than skiing. So he chased after another dream -- making exceptional beer for a living. In February, 1990 that dream became reality when Richard opened the original Breckenridge Brewery & Pub in the town of Breckenridge, Colorado. Richard's ski bum days were over, and so were the days of bland beer for the folks in Colorado's ski country. www.breckenridgebrewery.com

Capital Brewery was founded on March 14, 1984. Located in a former egg processing plant building, Capital Brewery produced its first brew in the spring of 1986. Much of the brewing equipment currently used in the brewery, including the two copper brewing kettles, came from the Hoxter Brewery in Germany. At the heart of the operation is an excellent refrigeration system that enables the brewery to produce extremely high quality lager beers, prompting many to refer to Capital Brewery as the finest lager brewery in America. www.capital-brewery.com

Christian Moerlein Beers follow traditional German styles that reflect the Bavarian heritage of our founder, Christian Moerlein. Moerlein was an accomplished blacksmith who grew up in a family of brewers before sailing to America in 1841. Christian's love for brewing hearty, European beers was an idea fermenting in his mind. In 1853, his attention changed from horseshoes and wagon wheels to barley and hops. Christian's craftsmanship became focused on brewing beer in the back of his workshop, one fine batch at a time. He began brewing European style beers according to old family recipes. Cincinnati grew thirsty for his beers and he established one of the most successful pre-Prohibition breweries in the nation, The Christian Moerlein Brewing Company of Cincinnati, Ohio.  www.christianmoerlein.com

Off-centered ales, for off-centered people... that's what they do at Dogfish Head! Whether it's weird ingredients, super- strong extreme beers, or crazy, made-up styles, you can be sure that a beer from Dogfish will challenge your perceptions of what beer is supposed to be! The Dogfish Head Brewery also offers these Seasonal and Limited Edition beers which are brewed and released once (or in some cases just a few) times a year. Many have high alcohol contents, which means grab 'em when you can and keep them happy in your cellar! www.dogfish.com

Flossmoor Station's owners, Dean and Carolyn Armstrong, wouldn't let the fact that neither had any prior restaurant experience dampen their dream of building a brewpub they could call their own. After purchasing the old Flossmoor Train Station building, the Armstrongs invested another $1.5 million into turning it back into a sound establishment with the modern conveniences customers expect, but preserving as much of the authentic character as possible. Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery celebrated its Grand Opening on July 8, 1996. Its debut was met with great excitement as the community had its first opportunity to see how lovingly the old building was restored, and what a stunning addition it would make to the town. Flossmoor - and South Chicagoland - now had a true "public house" and "community gathering place" - the goal the Armstrongs persisted to achieve.  www.flossmoorstation.com
